ANKARA (Kashmir English): Recently, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, gave an exclusive interview to Anadolu Agency, where he addressed critical regional security issues, Pakistan’s stance on peace, and its firm rejection of Indian aggression.

Pakistan desires peace in the region but will never accept Indian dominance, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said during an interview with Anadolu Agency.

“The truth is that India is not the United States, and Pakistan is not Afghanistan. India is not Israel, and Pakistan is not Palestine,” he remarked, making it clear that any attempts made at misadventures are unacceptable.

He strongly rejected Indian accusations related to the Pahalgam incident, stressing that New Delhi has failed to provide any solid evidence. “New Delhi is using such incidents as a pretext for spreading terrorism,” he added.

Speaking about recent tensions along the border, DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Chaudhry confirmed that Pakistan had shot down six Indian fighter aircraft, including three Rafales. He said this is already known worldwide, even though India continues to deny it.

According to him, since the beginning of 2024, more than 3,700 terror attacks have taken place in Pakistan. These incidents have led to 3,896 deaths, including 1,314 security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, within a span of less than 17 months.

Over 2,500 people have suffered amputations, while many others have lost their lives. He pointed out that Pakistan is currently one of the most affected countries by terrorism.

Lt. Gen. Chaudhry blamed India for backing and fuelling this wave of violence. He claimed that the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), which recently claimed responsibility for the Jaffer Express attack, had requested military help from India.

DG ISPR also mentioned that some Indian political figures and retired military officials have openly shown support for the BLA.

On the issue of Kashmir, he said it remains a recognised international dispute, and the ongoing unrest is a direct result of Indian oppression. “What is happening in Kashmir and inside India is a result of internal oppression,” he said.

DG ISPR accused India of trying to forcibly present the Kashmir conflict as an internal issue and not making any genuine attempts to resolve it. “We are a peace-loving nation, but if provoked or attacked by India, our response will be swift and severe,” he warned.
