GUREZ VALLEY (Kashmir English): A grand ceremony was held in Gurez Valley, Neelum, to honour the Pakistan Army’s historic victory in the recent conflict. Brigadier Imran Cheema, Commander of the Falcon Brigade, was the chief guest and received a warm welcome from the local community.

People expressed their respect for Pakistan Forces through the chants “Allahu Akbar” and “Long Live Pakistan Army.” Both District Councillor Syed Yahya Shah and social activist Habibullah Butt commended the military for preventing India from invading Pakistan.

Attendees strongly condemned India’s targeting of civilian areas and lauded the Pakistani forces for their decisive triumph.

Brigadier Cheema thanked the crowd, calling the victory “a triumph for Islam.” He paid tribute to the brave people of Gurez Valley, saying, “You are the unpaid guardians of our borders.”

“No amount of gratitude to Allah is enough for this success,” he added. “The unity shown by the people was remarkable. If we remain steadfast, more victories will follow.”

He also announced that long-standing demands for protective bunkers in the Gurez and Neelum Valleys would finally be met. Additionally, work on the Phulawai Hydro Power Project and the Phulawai-Shundas Road would begin soon after government approval.

Previously, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and Muslim Conference leader, visited the Samahni ceasefire line to laud Pakistan’s armed forces following Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos. He declared India “trapped” after Pakistan countered advanced military technology from Israel, France, and Russia.

Khan stated that strong civilian resilience plays a big role in maintaining troop morale and mentioned that Indian aggression may be possible. He also advised border communities to have food and medical supplies at hand.

His statement comes during a period of high tension, with Khan’s team saying villages along the LoC should be improved to prevent them from being struck by attacks. The upgrades, he said, would improve Pakistan’s overall operational capabilities, showing the strength of the military.
