Govt to install big screens for FIFA World Cup Final

KARACHI (Kashmir English): The government of Sindh has made an announcement that it is going to set up huge screens in Karachi and some other cities where the semifinal and final of the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be broadcast for football lovers.

The event is being organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs of Sindh in different divisions and districts of the province.

Speaking about the screenings, Sindh’s minister for sports and youth affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar, said that “the semifinals would be broadcast from the Youth Development Center, Sharafi Goth, Malir, Karachi, on 15th and 16th of July, whereas the final match would be broadcast from the same venue on 20th of July”.

Semifinal and final matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 would be broadcast from Samdia Hotel in Hashim Town, Shaheed Benazirabad; Khara Complex in Larkana; Sindh Sports Board Hostel in Hyderabad and Gamma Stadium in Mirpurkhas.

In Sukkur, all three matches would be broadcast from Municipal Stadium, whereas the final match would be broadcast from Rohri Football Ground.

The authorities will also screen all three matches at Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Mahar Sports Complex in Ghotki. While in Thatta, the final match will be screened at Thatta Sports Complex.

“Public screenings of major international tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup, will encourage the young generation in addition to promoting sports,” Mahar stated.

According to him, the campaign was a step taken by the government in Sindh to promote sports and encourage healthy activities among youngsters.
