KARACHI (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance is responding to the hike in petroleum product prices and has decided to raise its transport rates by 5 percent.
According to Malik Shehzad Awan, who is the head of the Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance, the government hiked diesel prices by Rs. 5.70 per liter yesterday and raised the prices again by Rs. 7.15 per liter today.
Shehzad Awan threatened to stop their goods transport services if the government fails to give any relief to them.
Furthermore, Shehzad Awan criticized the frequent revision of petroleum product prices and pledged support to the strike call issued by the All Pakistan Petroleum Pump Owners Association.
Petrol Prices Increased
The federal government on Tuesday increased the petrol and diesel prices by Rs 4.93 per liter and Rs 7.15 per liter, respectively, for July 22, Wednesday.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) determined the new ex-depot prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) effective from tonight, the notification issued by the Petroleum Division stated.
With the latest revision, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 320.73 per liter and diesel at Rs 367.21 per liter.
