RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir hosted a reception in honour of Pakistan Army veterans on the occasion of Independence Day.
A large number of retired officers and ex-servicemen attended the reception hosted by COAS in Rawalpindi, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the reception, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid tribute to the invaluable services and lifelong sacrifices of the veterans for the defence of the country.
The Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces also appreciated the continuous role of the veterans in strengthening national stability.
He said that the experience, guidance and constant contact of the veterans with the institution are a valuable institutional asset, especially at a time when the security environment is increasingly complex and constantly changing.
On this occasion, the veterans expressed their confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army and reiterated their continued support for the armed forces in meeting emerging security challenges.
The veterans also expressed their determination to continue playing their role for national unity, peace, stability, and prosperity of the country.
