QUETTA (Kashmir English): Authorities have rejected what they described as a “barrage of fake news” circulating on social media regarding alleged violence in mining areas of Balochistan.

Misleading claims and unverified reports are being spread through social media accounts linked to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC).

Officials claimed that the campaign is aimed at creating fear and uncertainty at a time when Balochistan is witnessing increasing investment and development in the mining and technology sectors.

Sources further said that such propaganda is being promoted under the influence of “foreign-backed agendas” seeking to undermine economic progress and stability in the province.

Authorities said the people of Balochistan are increasingly taking control of their economic future through projects related to mineral resources, technology, and infrastructure development.

Officials maintained that security forces and local administrations remain fully vigilant to ensure peace and protect development initiatives across mining regions.

They also urged citizens to avoid sharing unverified information on social media and rely only on official sources for updates regarding the law and order situation in the province.
