ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organisation and former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Women Empowerment, Mushaal Hussein Mullick, has condemned the recent statement by the Indian Army Chief, Gen Upendra Dwivedi, saying it reflects the Modi government’s growing desperation, warmongering and political frustration.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mushaal, wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, said Pakistan’s history is rooted in sacrifice, resilience, bravery and victory.

She warned those attempting to undermine Pakistan’s resolve to remember the strength and unity of its people. “India should focus on its own deepening internal crises, rising unrest and growing divisions instead of resorting to provocative rhetoric against neighbouring countries,” she said.

Referring to recent regional tensions, Mushaal stated that Pakistan’s armed forces had already demonstrated their professional capability and resolve during Marqa-e-Haq, exposing India’s aggressive posturing and misplaced assumptions of dominance.

She said threats of war in a nuclearized region are irresponsible, dangerous and reflect poor judgment.

“Such inflammatory statements appear aimed at diverting international attention from the ongoing situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” she added.

Mushaal stressed that despite decades of oppression, the Kashmiri people’s spirit and aspiration for freedom cannot be crushed. “No military force can suppress a people’s determination for dignity, justice and peace,” she remarked.

She further warned that India’s politics of hatred, militarization and aggressive nationalism are pushing South Asia toward instability and undermining prospects for regional peace.

“Take notice of Indian Army Chief’s statement”

Calling upon the UN, the international community and global human rights organisations to take immediate notice of India’s provocative statements and conduct, Mushaal urged meaningful diplomatic efforts to avoid escalation and safeguard peace in the region. She concluded by reaffirming that the Kashmiri people stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan in the collective pursuit of peace, justice and regional stability.
