MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Reports of supply disruptions, particularly fuel shortages, have emerged from several parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) amid the ongoing law and order situation.
According to sources, shortages of fuel and essential goods are being reported in a number of areas as transportation and supply chains continue to face difficulties.
Residents in several areas have been rushing to buy food and other essential supplies due to uncertainty over future supplies amid the prevailing situation in the region, with many stocking up on weeks’ worth of provisions.
Authorities have alleged that individuals associated with the recently proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) were involved in incidents of looting at petrol pumps and shops.
Transporters are also reluctant to move goods on roads because of security concerns, including fears of arson by JAAC and road blockades.
