MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Authorities have rejected as false, baseless, and misleading viral social media claims alleging that polling was suspended or the election process had become controversial during the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) general elections.
Based on the findings and fact-checking done by the administration, it has come to light that there is no link between the circulating video clips and the upcoming elections.
The officials informed that some old video clips are being circulated with misleading information and captions to give a wrong perception about the present scenario.
The administration informed that the banned Action Committee is responsible for circulating such outdated footage, including the video clip depicting false scenes from Rawalakot in an attempt to cause confusion and panic among voters.
The authorities further informed that there is peace and calmness prevailing in all parts of AJK, with the polls going on uninterrupted in all constituencies.
Furthermore, it was informed that the turnout of voters has been very good, with lots of people coming out to polling stations in Muzaffarabad, Jhelum Valley and other places to vote.
The Election Commission and Administration have requested the citizens not to share or believe such content on social media and outdated videos.
It has advised the voters to collect information regarding the election only from Election Commission press releases and reliable media outlets.
