DRAP Orders Action Against Falsified Medicines
DRAP warned that using falsified medicines could result in treatment failure and endanger patients’ health.
The authority has directed its regulatory teams and provincial drug control departments to inspect medicine supply chains and seize the affected products.
Healthcare professionals and pharmacies have also been advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious medicines to the relevant authorities.
Advice for Consumers
DRAP has urged consumers not to use medicines from the identified batches and to consult a doctor if they experience any health problems after taking them.
The authority has also advised the public to purchase medicines only from licensed pharmacies and verify their authenticity before use.
Consumers who have any of the listed batches should check the batch number on the packaging and contact a pharmacist or the relevant drug regulatory authority for guidance. Patients should not discontinue or change prescribed treatment without consulting a healthcare professional.
The alert is intended to prevent the distribution and use of falsified medicines and protect public health across Pakistan.
