RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Monday said that the military should be kept away from politics.

In an important closed-door briefing to journalists today, DG ISPR shared the details regarding counter-terrorism operations and exposed Indian hostile propaganda in the region against Pakistan.

He claimed that the security forces have killed 206 Afghan Taliban fighters and 112 militants belonging to the Fitna al-Khawarij during the recent Pak-Afghan border conflict. Most of these operations were conducted in Balochistan, where militant activity had intensified, he added.

He further added that 1,667 terrorists have been killed so far in operations against Fitna al-Khawarij, reaffirming that Pakistan is fully prepared to protect its borders and its people.

The Lt General further revealed that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had pledged allegiance to the Afghan Taliban’s emir and functions as a branch of the Afghan Taliban.

“TTP swore allegiance in the name of the Afghan Taliban’s leader,” the military spokesperson said, underscoring the intertwined nature of the two groups.

India preparing another false flag

Moreover, the military spokesperson has accused India of preparing another false flag operation in the deep sea, intended to malign Pakistan.

“India can do whatever it wants on land, sea, and air. This time, the response will be more severe than before,” he warned. He stressed that Pakistan’s forces are fully prepared to respond decisively to any aggression from India.
