OKARA (Kashmir English): The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested a suspect during an intelligence-based operation in Okara, foiling a possible plot targeting sensitive installations.
According to the CTD, initial investigations have revealed that the suspect allegedly planned an attack on some sensitive installations. Moreover, the suspect is alleged to have some connections with the RAW intelligence agency of India at the time of initial questioning.
According to the CTD officials, the suspect who was apprehended has been named as Roz Ali Khan, who resides in the Armar Miana locality of Peshawar district.
The officials stated that the suspect was arrested near Kohinoor City on Faisalabad Road in Okara. He reportedly wanted to target some sensitive places.
In the raid, CTD operatives seized explosive items, which include detonators, Prima cards, electrical wires, three batteries, and two mobile phones.
A case has been lodged against the suspect, whereas some more investigations are being carried out to ascertain the extent of his activities and the existence of any network or accomplices.
The CTD officials have informed that the suspect has been moved to an undisclosed place for interrogation in connection with the case.
Security forces successfully arrest 5 RAW-backed agents in Muzaffarabad
Earlier, Law enforcement agencies conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Chehla area of Muzaffarabad, arresting five RAW-backed agents linked to anti-state activities, according to sources.
During the targeted operation, authorities recovered laptops, mobile phones, and other communication devices from the possession of the arrested individuals. Initial investigations reportedly revealed suspicious links connected to digital devices and sensitive material.
Sources said that further investigation led to the recovery of a large cache of weapons after the identification of one of the suspects. The seized arsenal included seven automatic weapons, several grenades, and other war-related materials.
Investigators also recovered maps of sensitive installations, alleged attack plans, and documents related to strategic locations. Evidence suggesting possible contacts with hostile intelligence agencies has also become part of the ongoing investigation, sources added.
Forensic and technical analysis of the recovered electronic devices and documents is currently underway. Authorities are examining potential facilitators, sources of financial support, and the wider network allegedly connected to the suspects.
According to sources, the timely operation helped avert potential threats to sensitive installations and ensured public safety. Law enforcement agencies reiterated that any activity threatening state security, public order, or national interests would not be tolerated.
Officials stated that strict legal action would be taken against all individuals found involved in activities detrimental to national security. The public has also been urged to immediately report any suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
Investigations are continuing from all possible angles to uncover the full scope of the alleged network, sources said.
