MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir government has approved 472 new posts of various cadres to turn the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) into a more active and robust entity.

A notification has been issued by the Home Department of the Azad Government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir in this regard.

These recruitments will be carried out under budget head MZ0905, including positions such as SSP, SP, DSP, Inspector, Sub-Inspector, ASI, Constable, and technical staff, among others.

According to officials, the new recruitments will improve the capacity for counter-terrorism operations, intelligence collection, digital monitoring, and rapid response in sensitive areas, while also creating new employment opportunities for the youth.

The notification clarifies that recruitments for these new posts will be made according to existing rules and regulations, and after this approval, the police department will not demand any further posts.

The purpose of this measure is to improve the security system in the state and accelerate counter-terrorism operations to ensure public safety.

CTD recruitments through a third-party act

It is worth noting that after the approval of these posts, the new incoming government will likely carry out recruitments through a third-party act.

Previously, thousands of recruitments were made in the Police Department and Education Department of Azad Kashmir through NTS.

According to the court decision, all posts above Grade 7 will be filled through a third-party act.
