JOHOR BARU (Kashmir English): Britain defeated Pakistan in the Sultan Johor Hockey Cup to win the bronze medal.
The third-place match of the Sultan Johor Hockey Cup 2025 was played between Pakistan and Great Britain in Johor Baru, Malaysia, in which Great Britain defeated Pakistan by 3 goals to 2.
The winning side had taken the lead by scoring 2 goals in the first quarter.
Pakistan had equalized the match through goals from captain Hanan Shahid in the second quarter and Sufyan Khan in the fourth and final quarter, but 4 minutes before the end of the game, Great Britain’s Henry Markham scored a beautiful goal to make the match 2-3.
Britain’s lead remained until the end of the match. And thus Great Britain defeated Pakistan and won the bronze medal.
In the event, the Pakistan team only managed to defeat Malaysia, Pakistan won the fourth position in the 6-team tournament.
