ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced an immediate reduction of Rs8,300 in airfares for passengers traveling to Jeddah and Madinah.
The fare reduction has taken effect immediately, providing relief to passengers planning to travel to the two Saudi Arabian cities.
According to the airline, passengers traveling to Jeddah and Madinah until September 30, 2026, will be eligible to benefit from the reduced fares.
Govt announces new rules for private Hajj scheme
Earlier, New instructions have been released for Hajj applicants due to the ban imposed by the government on the transaction of payments to private Hajj operators through the Private Hajj Scheme.
As per reports, the bookings for the Private Hajj Scheme 2027 have officially started. This is the first time that all payments, booking, and selection of packages will be done exclusively through the Pak Hajj App or via the Hajj portal under the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The ministry added that pilgrims would choose the private operators strictly through either the Pak Hajj App or the Hajj portal, as direct payment to any private operator would not be allowed.
The authorities further explained that in case of payments made to unauthorized persons, the responsibility of all consequences would be on the applicant himself.
According to the Private Hajj Scheme 2027, there will be a total of 71,696 pilgrims. Until now, more than 105,000 people have registered for the Hajj through the Pak Hajj App.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs also pointed out that only 25 private Hajj companies have been registered with the ministry and the packages can only be booked through these companies.
