BHIMBER (Kashmir English): Deputy Commissioner Bhimbher, Chaudhry Haq Nawaz, chaired an important meeting to review the emergency preparedness plan in light of recent developments, including Indian aggression, water-related threats, and the killing of tourists in Indian-occupied Pahalgam.

The meeting was attended by SSP Chaudhry Muhammad Amin, SDM Headquarters Muhammad Isa Baig, DHO Dr Erum Batool, and heads and representatives of various departments. The focus remained on safeguarding public lives and infrastructure near the Line of Control (LoC), as well as ensuring continuity of daily life under current threats.

The Deputy Commissioner praised the hospitality and resilience of Bhimbher’s citizens and stated that, on the directives of Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, steps have been taken to ensure citizens’ safety.

Participants discussed strategies to ensure uninterrupted supplies of food, water, flour, medicine, electricity, and internet, along with maintaining rescue operations and transportation routes. District-level security and vigilance plans were also formulated in collaboration with local elected representatives.

SSP Bhimbher gave detailed suggestions concerning transport, food reserves, water supplies, emergency shelters, tents, medicines, vaccines, and overall security. DHO Dr Erum Batool confirmed that rapid response teams are fully prepared, with ambulances and blood donation setups already on standby.

Medical Superintendent Dr Muhammad Mansoor assured attendees that staff remain on high alert and are committed to serving beyond available resources. Coordination with private hospitals is also being strengthened to improve the healthcare response.
