DUBAI (Kashmir English): Pakistan national team captain Babar Azam has moved up five places in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test Batting Rankings to enter the top 10.
According to the latest rankings, Babar Azam has moved up from 15th to 10th place. He scored 193 runs in the two-Test series against the West Indies and won the Man of the Series award.
Babar Azam had fallen out of the top 10 in September 2024, while he reached a career-best second position during the home series against England in December 2022.
On the other hand, Abdullah Shafiq also made significant improvements in the rankings and moved up 25 places to 32nd place.
In the second Test against the West Indies, Abdullah Shafiq won the Player of the Match award after playing unbeaten innings of 160 and 24 runs.
In the bowlers’ rankings, West Indies’ Joseph is 19th, Shaheen Shah Afridi is 29th, while Pakistan’s spinner Sajid Khan has reached 30th place.
In the batsmen’s rankings, Australia’s Travis Head is first, and England’s Harry Brook is second, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah is first and New Zealand’s Matt Henry is second.
