CANBERRA (Kashmir English): An Australian man has secured the title of the person with the loudest voice in the world.

Guinness World Records has recognised 58-year-old Joseph McGrail-Bateup as the holder of the world record for the loudest human voice.

Joseph McGrail-Bateup produced a sound measuring 122.4 decibels from his throat at the maximum, a level comparable to the noise of a jet aircraft during take-off or an ambulance siren.

Speaking about the achievement, the Australian man said he had received no special training to set the world record.

Exceptionally loud voice

He said there was no method through which a person could practise for such a loud voice, adding someone could only do this who naturally possesses an exceptionally loud voice.

The previous record was set in 1994 by Northern Ireland school teacher Annalisa Flanagan, who produced a sound measuring 121.7 decibels.
