LONDON (Kashmir English): Australia won the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup by defeating England by 7 wickets at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday.

The historic victory marks Australia’s record-extending seventh T20 World Cup title.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first. England suffered early setbacks, sliding to 43/2 and being throttled by tight Australian bowling led by Lucy Hamilton (1-19).

A resilient 104*-run partnership between veteran Nat Sciver-Brunt (58*) and youngster Freya Kemp (44*) dragged England to a competitive total of 150/4.

Australia, however, succeeded in the highest successful run-chase in tournament final history.

Following an early wicket, opener Beth Mooney (64) and Phoebe Litchfield (48) put together a superb 100-run partnership off just 67 balls.

Despite both set batters falling near the finish line, Ellyse Perry guided Australia safely across the line with 17 balls to spare, clinching her seventh individual T20 World Cup trophy.
