Nawaz Sharif unveils 100-day reform plan for new AJK govt

LAHORE (Kashmir English): Newly elected Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Iftikhar Gilani held an important meeting with PML-N President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and senior leadership in Jati Umra on the occasion of his arrival in Lahore.

On this occasion, Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz were also present in the meeting, while Speaker of Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Tariq Farooq and Member of Assembly Abdul Rehman Arain were also present in the meeting.

The central leadership of PML-N congratulated Iftikhar Gilani on assuming power and expressed good wishes for the new government.

During the meeting, newly elected Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani thanked the central leadership for his nomination for the Prime Ministership and expressed his determination to live up to their trust.

He assured that the agenda of public service, good governance, and development and construction in Azad Kashmir will be taken forward on a priority basis. During the meeting, the political and governmental situation of the region, the next steps in government formation, cabinet formation and public welfare measures were discussed in detail.

Nawaz Sharif’s 100-day reform plan

PML-N leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif shared a comprehensive reform plan for the first 100 days of the new government of Azad Kashmir with Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani.

He directed that Azad Kashmir be taken on the path of innovation and development on the model of Punjab, and steps should be taken to provide immediate relief to the people.

The leadership laid special emphasis on bringing about significant improvements in the sectors of health, education, sanitation and basic infrastructure and resolving public issues on a priority basis.
