MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Iftikhar Gillani on Thursday said the government is taking steps to eliminate unemployment, empower young people and create new job opportunities across the state.
Talking to a delegation of youth at the Prime Minister’s Office, Gilani said a special plan was being introduced to provide young people with opportunities to progress and become economically self-sufficient.
“By utilizing the capabilities of the youth, not only can the problem of unemployment be overcome, but also the economic development of the region can be accelerated,” he stated.
The premier further said that opportunities will be created to encourage the youth in modern sectors, including IT, and skills development will be promoted to make them economically self-sufficient.
He said that it is important to provide a conducive environment for the youth to start businesses and stand on their own feet, adding that the government will strongly encourage business activities.
