MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Iftikhar Gilani on Friday said that the current PML-N government will accelerate the process of reforms across all sectors by ensuring good governance, transparency and merit in Azad Kashmir.
Prime Minister Gilani chaired a high-level meeting to review in detail the roadmap prepared to achieve the new government’s first 100 days’ targets.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Khushal Khan, Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Sardar Zafar Khan, Principal Secretary Adnan Khurshid, Secretary Information and IT Rashid Hanif, and secretaries of various government departments.
Addressing the meeting, Gilani said that the first priority of the government is to reduce the problems of the common man and provide basic facilities to the people.
Moreover, he added that the first 100 days are an important milestone for assessing the government’s performance, adding that concrete public welfare measures would be taken during this period to ensure their benefits reach ordinary citizens.
“All departments should adopt a coordinated and effective strategy to achieve their goals and ensure the completion of the measures within the stipulated time,” he stated.
The Prime Minister said that better facilities will be provided to the public through reforms in education, health, construction, the local government system, tourism, infrastructure, employment, and other sectors.
“Improving the performance of government institutions, addressing public grievances, and ensuring effective service delivery were among the government’s key priorities.
He directed the officers that delays in resolving public issues will not be tolerated and that all departments should improve their performance and ensure effective implementation of government policies.
