MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The unofficial and unconfirmed results of all 13 constituencies in Mirpur Division for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly General Elections 2026 have been received, providing a clear preliminary picture of the electoral outcome across the division.
According to the unofficial results, the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) has emerged as the leading party by winning nine constituencies, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured four seats.
Mirpur District Results
In Mirpur district, PML-N’s Azhar Sadiq won LA-1 Mirpur (Dadyal), defeating PPP’s Muhammad Afsar Shahid.
PPP’s Chaudhry Qasim Majeed retained LA-2 Mirpur (Chakswari/Islamgarh), while PML-N’s Azim Bakhsh Chaudhry finished second.
- In LA-3 New Mirpur City, PPP candidate Chaudhry Yasir Sultan emerged victorious over PML-N’s Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed.
- PML-N’s Chaudhry Rukhsar Ahmed won LA-4 Mirpur (Saming Sharif), defeating PPP’s Sahib Arshad.
Bhimber District Results - PML-N swept all three constituencies in Bhimber district.
- Waqar Ahmad Noor won LA-5 Bhimber (Barnala), defeating PPP’s Chaudhry Parvez Ashraf.
- In LA-6 Samahni, Muhammad Razzaq Chaudhry of PML-N defeated Ali Shan of the Isthakam Pakistan Party.
PML-N’s Tariq Farooq secured victory in LA-7 Bhimber, while independent candidate Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq remained runner-up.
Kotli District Results
- PPP’s Malik Zafar Iqbal won LA-8 Raja Gulian, defeating PML-N’s Malik Nawaz Khan.
- PML-N’s Karim Mumtaz secured LA-9 Khoi Ratta, while PPP’s Javed Iqbal finished second.
- PPP President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin won LA-10 Kotli City, defeating PML-N’s Fateh Mehmood.
- PML-N’s Muhammad Asif won LA-11 Sahansa against PPP’s Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq.
- In LA-12 Chachoi, Muhammad Riyasat Khan of PML-N defeated PPP’s Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin.
- PML-N’s Raja Ayaz Ahmed secured victory in LA-13 Nikyal, while Nisar Ansar of the Isthakam Pakistan Party finished second.
PML-N Holds Clear Advantage
The preliminary results indicate that PML-N has established a strong lead across Mirpur Division by securing a majority of seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party maintained its presence with victories in several key constituencies.
