MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Allegations have surfaced that former Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) prime minister Raja Farooq Haider has been supporting his son-in-law, Bilal Khar, who has faced serious criminal accusations in the past.
According to the details, Bilal Khar, son of former Punjab governor Ghulam Mustafa Khar, has been involved in serious crimes due to political patronage.
Sources said that Bilal Khar is hiding in the house of his father-in-law, senior PML-N AJK leader Raja Farooq Haider.
Khar was accused of attacking his former wife, Fakhra Younis, with acid in 2000. The attack reportedly caused severe injuries to her face and body. Fakhra Younis died by suicide in 2012 due to pressure.
The media reports alleged Bilal Khar escaped from the court in December 2003 due to political influence.
In addition, reports claimed that Farooq Haider’s son-in-law was also involved in the 2014 killing of local resident Amjad Ladhani, as well as an attack on a judge, ballot box theft, and other violent incidents in 2014.
Former AJK PM Farooq Haider is providing political influence to his son-in-law and other criminals by sheltering them, sources added.
