MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The sit-in of Maternal and Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) employees who were dismissed from their jobs despite being deprived of salaries for 13 months continued for the 16th day at the Central Press Club in Muzaffarabad.

According to the details, the Health Department has dismissed the MNHC employees from their jobs despite being deprived of salaries for 13 months, which has led to a general protest by both male and female employees.

The employees have been sitting on a sit-in in front of the Muzaffarabad Central Press Club for 16 days, but no official from the Health Department has come to take news of them, nor has anyone taken notice of their protest.

Talking to Kashmir Digital, the female employees said that they have not been paid salaries for 13 months, due to which the situation has reached the point of starvation in their homes, children are deprived of education.

While talking, an employee said that if salaries are not issued for 13 months and contracts are not restored, they will commit self-immolation, for which the government will be responsible.

Another woman revealed that they are now being told to take two months’ salary and go home. She raised the question that if the rulers’ own women were here, they would probably be ashamed, but we are also someone’s sisters and daughters.

It should be remembered that recently, DG Health Dr. Farooq had said that the protest of MNCH employees is unjustified and this is also a conspiracy.
