MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Unhygienic drinks in Muzaffarabad with unhealthy and possibly dangerous ingredients are available at different street locations in the inner areas of the city, which concerns public health safety. Stalls in inner Muzaffarabad unlawfully target both local citizens and visiting inhabitants to share substandard drink products, which may threaten public wellness.
Kashmir Digital identified various locations throughout the city with these stalls that are concentrated in active urban areas. The beverages sold through these stalls are made under unhygienic preparation standards and exist without any health inspections or quality testing. People who remain uninformed about dangerous unsanitary products in the market face the most severe consequences, including children and older adults.
An exclusive conversation with the Municipal Magistrate of Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmirs (AJK) took place in response to the escalating problem. The Magistrate expressed deep worries because he would not accept substandard or unhealthy drink sales at any time. The authorities have declared their dedication to public health security through active reviews of vendors whose operations disregard hygiene and safety regulations.
The official notified the people to watch out for any unauthorized drink vendors and to share information about them with authorities. The authorities will swiftly enforce penalties against individuals who distribute hazardous or unclean drinks he declared. According to the Magistrate the public needs to join forces with municipal authorities to create safe living conditions throughout the city.
He also added that some of the people selling fresh-looking beverages on the side are nothing more than sachets of flavours added to water coolers and sold as fresh juices. He raised concerns about the quality and hygiene of such cheap, low-priced flavour sachets.
Continuing with the conversation, he also used Kashmir Digital as a platform to request the people that if they encounter any such incident or witness stalls failing to meet the health requirement, they should contact the authorities immediately.
Local residents express concern because these street stalls generate unease which leads them to demand more thorough checks and systematic inspections to be carried out. Public health officials must stop this problem now since summer is coming and cold beverage sales will increase due to rising heat.
The Municipal Magistrate’s pledge for accountability provides hope; however, swift enforcement and continuous oversight in the upcoming days will determine the outcome.
