MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The Muzaffarabad administration has taken action against butchers selling meat at higher prices in Mutton Market and Gilani Chowk.
In two separate operations conducted on the instructions of Assistant Commissioner Muzaffarabad Ghulam Mohiuddin Gilani, five butchers were arrested and cases were registered against them under PLA-7.
Those arrested include Muhammad Hanif son of Wali Jan, Munib Khan son of Wali Jan, Qasim Khan son of Muhammad Jan (resident of Afghanistan), Tanzeer son of Zahoor Ahmed Pathan, and Syed Yasir Shah Mehmood Shah (resident of Tariqabad).
Assistant Commissioner Ghulam Mohiuddin Gilani said that violation of the official rate will not be tolerated under any circumstances and the administration will continue to take strict action against such elements.
Citizens should file complaints of high prices with the administration so that immediate action can be taken, the statement said.
