MIRPUR (Kashmir English): Implementing the instructions of the Azad Kashmir government, the Mirpur Development Authority (MDA) has lifted the ban on transfer and sale of 9000 plots out of 11565 plots.
Addressing the press briefing today in Mirpur, Director General MDA Engineer Raja Mahmood Mumtaz Rathore said that the restrictions imposed on the transfer and sale of plots of the Mirpur Development Authority have been lifted.
The decision will end the problems faced by allottees, buyers, civic organizations, and overseas due to the purchase and transfer of plots.
He further informed that the buyer will give an affidavit regarding the lifting of the ban to the extent of 9,000 plots, that the buyer will not object if the size and location of the plot is changed in the master plan, sector plan/review and approval.
“Approximately 9000 plots which do not affect any public interest or cause any legal complications, may be allowed subject to undertaking in the form of an affidavit from the buyers that if, after revision and approval of the Master Plan/Sector Plan, size or location of the plot is changed consequently, the buyer will agree and will have no objection,” the order issued by Mirpur Development Authority read.
The restriction on the transfer and purchase of 2,017 remaining plots that are in Public places or privately-owned spaces shall continue.
While addressing the media, DG MDA said that now commercial and economic activities will be promoted in Mirpur and the revenue of the institution will also increase.
He further said that after the lifting of this ban, overseas investment will come to the region and the phase of buying and selling plots will also continue. He further said that on the instructions of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court, the development authority is also taking steps to put other matters in the right direction.
