MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): Azad Kashmir Forest Department has foiled an attempt to smuggle wood and seized the truck at Pattika forest checkpost in Muzaffarabad district.
As per details, the accused were smuggling a large quantity of valuable timber wood hidden in the secret compartments of the truck from Neelum Valley to Muzaffarabad.
The vehicle was stopped at the forest checkpost in Pattika and upon search, secret compartments were found in the vehicle, where the wood was hidden.
The truck, registration number 064, was seized and taken to the UT Division Muzaffarabad.
On the special instructions of the Superintendent of Forests Muzaffarabad Division Mazhar Naqvi, the in-charge of Pattika checkpost Chaudhry Naseem, along with Forest Guard Mir Waqar, Mir Ashfaq, Atif, and Basharat Awan carried out a brilliant operation.
