RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): Bushra Bibi, wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, underwent a medical examination in Adiala Jail after a complaint of pain in her right eye, sources said on Sunday.
According to jail sources, Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan, head of the eye department at PIMS Hospital, Islamabad, conducted a detailed examination of the former first lady. Bibi had blurred vision in her right eye and also complained of a headache, sources said.
After the examination, the doctors have prescribed specific eye drops and medicines to Bushra Bibi, while also instructing various precautions, including the use of glasses and a well-lit place for reading and close work.
According to jail sources, the medical team said that Bushra Bibi will be re-examined after four weeks to assess her health status.
According to the medical report, Bushra Bibi had complained of blurred vision in her right eye for the past 11 days. After the examination, she was diagnosed with PVD (Posterior Vitreous Detachment) in her right eye and weakness in her distance vision.
Imran Khan’s medical checkup
Earlier on March 18, a new medical board examined the affected eye of incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.
According to the jail administration, the medical team, consisting of five doctors and other medical staff, was formed by the Islamabad chief commissioner in compliance with the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) order.
Sources said that the medical team completed a thorough two-hour examination of the PTI founder’s affected eye.
The doctors included ENT specialist Professor Altaf Hussain, cardiologist Professor Akhtar Ali Bandesha, Dr Muhammad Ali Arif, and Professor Nadeem Qureshi from Al-Shifa Eye Hospital. The checkup was conducted in the presence of his wife, Bushra Bibi, the jail administration said.
The medical team also brought an ambulance equipped with modern and specialized equipment, so that all medical equipment and facilities are available during the check-up. Later, the full report from the medical board was submitted to the Chief Commissioner.
