MUZAFFARABAD (Kashmir English): The banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) has started targeting and harassing poor traders and small businessmen on social media who earn their living by opening shops.
A picture of a shop has gone viral on social media by the banned JAAC, with the caption, “This shop is doing Karubar,” along with sharing the shopkeeper’s number and telling them to humiliate him.
The affected AJK traders say that they are being criticized by sharing pictures and videos of their shops on some social media platforms, which is affecting their reputation and business.
The traders said that they are forced to continue their business to feed their families due to economic difficulties and it is not appropriate to pressure them through social media campaigns.
Several shopkeepers have demanded that public defamation of any citizen or trader be avoided, despite differences of opinion or organizational decisions.
They said that the path of dialogue and mutual respect should be adopted to resolve issues.
