LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government has linked the Driving License Information Management System (DLIMS) with the “Dastak” application.

The main objective of this initiative is to save the citizens from unnecessary rounds of offices and long queues, and to bring all the basic services related to a driving license to their doorstep.

With the introduction of this new digital facility, the public will no longer have to go to offices to obtain a license, which will not only save time but will also bring transparency to the government system.

According to the details released by the Traffic Police Punjab, now citizens will be able to get various services related to driving licenses from home through the Dastak app.

Under this new facility, an application for obtaining a learner’s driving license can be submitted online, while renewal of an existing license will also be possible easily through the same mobile app.

Officials further said that if a citizen’s original license is lost or damaged, he/she will also be able to apply online on the Dastak app to obtain a duplicate license.

Apart from this, a major facility has been given to citizens traveling abroad that they can also submit an application for an international driving license (International License) sitting at home through the same app.

According to the Traffic Police Punjab, the fee for a learner’s driving license has been fixed at Rs 500 per category.

On the other hand, the fee for license renewal and duplicate license will be charged as per the category of the concerned vehicle or motorcycle, as per the official rules and regulations.

It should be noted that the Dastak app can be easily downloaded from the Google Play Store, which provides all the information and online facilities related to licenses of different categories, including motorcycle, car, jeep, LTV, and HTV.
