MIRPUR (Kashmir English): The police have taken major action against the protesters who gathered at different places, after which the situation in the area has been completely brought under control.
According to reports, groups of people started gathering at five different places in Islamgarh and Chakswari. Some of the people in these groups were carrying stones, glass bottles, and sticks.
The presence of these people created a tense situation in the area, and the common people faced difficulties in movement. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the police immediately cracked down.
Police personnel reached the spot and tried to disperse the protesters and took steps as per the law.
As a result of continuous and effective action, all the groups were dispersed, and the situation was brought under control. According to police officials, a total of 15 people have been detained during the operation.
These people are being interrogated to find out what the real reason was for the gathering and whether there was any organized planning involved in it or not.
In addition, the police have also recovered two weapons from the spot, which have been taken into custody. After the operation, traffic has been restored in the area, and the roads have been reopened for movement.
Additional police personnel have also been deployed to prevent any possible re-gathering or unpleasant incident and to maintain law and order.
The administration says that all necessary steps are being taken to maintain complete peace in the area, and the situation is being constantly monitored.
