RAWLAKOT (Kashmir English): Security officials have rejected claims circulating on social media regarding the situation in Rawalakot following the recent violence, maintaining that normalcy was restored in the city during the evening and no further firing incidents occurred after 8:30 pm.
There is complete peace in the city, PTI, and the banned JAAC are propagandizing on the same pattern as November 26.
Thus, the heinous propaganda of PTI social media and the conspiracy to turn the people of Rawalakot against the state on the lines of November 26, 2024, have been exposed once again.
According to senior security sources, complete peace prevailed in Rawalakot after 8:30pm and reports suggesting continued unrest, rioting, or the imposition of a curfew were inaccurate.
Officials said that during the attack on CMH Rawalakot, three law enforcement personnel, including a sub-inspector of Rawalakot Police and an officer of the Federal Constabulary, embraced martyrdom.
More than 20 personnel of the police and Federal Constabulary were also injured in the incident.
Security sources stated that the martyred personnel were hit by 7.62mm caliber bullets, while the injured officers received immediate medical treatment.
According to officials, two civilians were seriously injured during the incident. However, they said there were no reports of additional civilian casualties.
Senior security sources further claimed that several narratives circulating on social media regarding the Rawalakot incident were misleading and did not reflect the ground situation. They maintained that law and order had been restored and that the city remained peaceful throughout the night.
Officials reiterated that no shots were fired after 8:30 pm and that commercial and public activities gradually returned to normal. They also urged the public to rely on verified information and avoid sharing unconfirmed reports on social media.
Authorities said investigations into the incident are ongoing and that legal action will be taken against those responsible in accordance with the law.
