RAWALAKOT (Kashmir English): At least three police officials including a sub-inspector and two paramilitary personnel were martyred while over 20 injured in an alleged attack by a mob associated with the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) on Sunday, according to official sources.

According to details, armed mob associated with JAAC attacked Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalakot. As per initial reports three police officials and two paramilitary personnel embraced Shahadat while over 20 police were injured in the attack.

The sources said that the security personnel were targeted directly with Kalashnikovs.

According to initial reports, the attack was a kind of well-organized and pre-planned operation under the cover of Shahzaib’s funeral.

Armed elements of JAAC opened direct fire, resulting in the martyrdom of three Azad Kashmir Police personnel and one Federal Constabulary jawan, while more than 20 personnel from law-enforcement agencies were injured with gunshot wounds.
