CALIFORNIA (Kashmir English): Google is overhauling the YouTube search experience with rolling out new artificial intelligence tools, including a feature titled “Ask YouTube”.
According to TechCrunch, the new tool allows users to submit more detailed search queries, including requests for parenting advice videos or recommendations for game reviews before bedtime.
Meta said users would also be allowed to ask follow-up questions in order to refine search results further.
YouTube will gather Short and long-form videos before generating a combined response for users.
The feature has, in the initial phase, been offered to Premium subscribers in the United States using desktop devices through YouTube’s experimental tools programme.
YouTube Shorts Remix
In a press statement, the company also announced the addition of Gemini Omni, Google’s latest AI video model, to YouTube Shorts Remix and the YouTube Create application.
YouTube hoped the new feature would help improve storytelling by understanding user intent more accurately while handling complex video and audio adjustments in the background.
Technology firms including Meta and OpenAI had previously received mixed responses over the growing use of AI-generated content in short-form videos.
