WASHINGTON (Kashmir English)): US President Donald Trump Monday said that he postponed the planned attack on Iran at the request of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
In a statement on Truth Social, President Donald Trump said that he received a request from the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to postpone “our planned military attack” on Iran, which was scheduled for today.
Trump stated that the reason for this is that serious negotiations are currently underway, and in the opinion of these great leaders and allies, an agreement will be reached that will be acceptable not only to the United States but also to all countries in the Middle East and beyond.
Iran will not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons
Most importantly, this agreement will ensure that Iran does not possess any nuclear weapons, he added.
Trump said that based on his respect for the aforementioned leaders, he has instructed Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Daniel Kane, and the US military that they will not carry out the planned attack on Iran today.
Trump said that however, he has also ordered them to be ready for a full and large-scale operation against Iran at a moment’s notice if an acceptable agreement is not reached.
