DALBANDIN (Kashmir English): Security forces successfully foiled an attempted blockade on the M-40 highway near Dalbandin, in Balochistan, during an operation against suspected militants, officials said on Thursday.
According to initial reports, armed assailants attempted to disrupt traffic by setting up a blockade on the key route. Security personnel responded swiftly, leading to an intense exchange of fire. As a result of the operation, 6 to 7 militants were killed.
However, the clash also resulted in the martyrdom of three security personnel.
Officials confirmed that further clearance and search operations are currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure the safety of commuters.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security across the province, particularly along critical highways linking remote regions.
