RAWALPINDI (Kashmir English): The Rawalpindi district administration has dismissed the notification being circulated on social media claiming a local holiday in Rawalpindi district on April 22.
In a post on X, the Deputy Commissioner has clarified that the notification circulating on social media is fake and advised the public to rely only on official sources for authentic information.
The notification falsely attributed to the Office of DC Rawalpindi stated that Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema, Deputy Commissioner, Rawalpindi, declared a local holiday in the territorial jurisdiction of Rawalpindi District on 22nd April, 2026.
“However, emergency dealing departments /institutions/authorities shall remain operational,” the notification falsely claimed.

Earlier in the day, in a separate post on X, the DC said that the District Administration Rawalpindi has restored the services at the bus terminal situated on Peshawar Road.
The Islamabad district administration has announced the restoration of the services of bus terminals established at the 26 Number.
“Citizens traveling to other cities via public transport can now depart from the 26 Number terminals,” DC Islamabad said in a post on X.
Red Zone to remain closed
On the other hand, Islamabad’s Red Zone has been closed to the general public amid the strict security measures ahead of the Islamabad peace talks between the United States and Iran.
The Cabinet Division said that all offices and ministries in the Red Zone will remain closed tomorrow. All federal ministries, divisions, and offices in Islamabad will not operate from their workplaces.
In addition, federal officers and staff have been directed to work from home until further notice.
On the other hand, a notification issued by the Registrar’s Office of the Federal Constitutional Court stated that no judicial work shall be conducted on April 22 (Wednesday) at the Principal seat of the Court at Islamabad.
“However, all officers and staff shall work from home and shall not leave the station. Besides, all four Branch Registries of the Court shall remain open for judicial and administrative work,” the court notification said.
