ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The educational institutions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad have shifted classes online as part of the security arrangements in view of the arrival of foreign delegations in the federal capital for peace talks.
International Islamic University Islamabad will conduct online classes from April 20 to 24, while Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University has also announced to move to remote learning and closed its campus temporarily.
Rawalpindi Medical University has also postponed examinations. Several other institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have announced changes to academic schedules, shifting classes online and postponing examinations in view of the foreign delegations arrival in Islamabad.
Islamic University Islamabad
According to a notification, classes in International Islamic University Islamabad will be held online from April 20 to 24. The university also postponed mid-term examinations scheduled for April 20 to 21.
The university administration introduced a four-day working week for non-teaching staff, from Monday to Thursday, with 50% staff working from home. This policy will remain in place from April 20 to 30.
Separately, Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi’s main campus will remain closed for one week, according to an official notification.
