ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) declared that the operations of all flights from Islamabad Airport will be suspended for a period of two hours on March 17 between 08:30 am and 10:30 am.

According to reports from the media, the PAA had previously cancelled a NOTAM issued for March 16 regarding the temporary suspension of flight operations and had declared that operations on that day would be carried out as usual.

The new NOTAM issued for March 17 declares that incoming flights must be equipped with sufficient holding fuel in case of delays in their operations.

The NOTAM also declared that some Air Traffic Service (ATS) routes in the Lahore Flight Information Region (FIR) are closed from the ground to flight level 210.

The PAA declared that the suspension is due to operational reasons and declared that the airspace is open and safe for civil use outside the suspension.
