ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The federal government has introduced the Prime Minister’s Ramazan Package 9999 to offer financial assistance to low-income families, which has been launched because of inflation and the restricted spending budget during Ramadan 2026.
The CNIC-based digital system will provide eligible households with direct access to assistance, which will deliver Rs 13,000 to deserving individuals without requiring them to wait in long lines or complete complex paperwork.
The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet convened a meeting, which Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb led with participation from Minister for Poverty Reduction and Social Protection Syed Imran Ahmed Shah, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan, and other essential officials.
The Minister for Poverty Reduction and Social Protection submitted a request for Rs 25 billion to fund the Ramadan relief package during the meeting.
The Finance Division reported that Rs19 billion has been set aside for the current fiscal year, and the Finance Division has approved immediate distribution of these funds, while future funds will be issued according to requirements and available resources.

The total value of the Ramadan relief package is Rs 39 billion, out of which Rs 10 billion is already with BISP, and the remaining Rs 29 billion will be provided through supplementary grants, operational expenses, and reallocated funds to ensure that the program remains completely financially secure and transparent.
