JAMMU (Kashmir English): The Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has demanded the resignation of Indian Prime Minister Narender Modi for his “surrender before US President Donald Trump” and compromising the dignity, honour and interests of the country through the US trade deal.
The party also accused the ruling party of succumbing to American pressure on foreign policy.
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing an anti-US trade deal rally in R S Pura, IIOJK Congress president Tariq Hameed Karra strongly opposed the agreement, terming it anti-farmer, anti-people and against the interests of India.
Modi surrendered before US
Karra said that PM Modi has surrendered before US due to fear of secrets in Epstein files and the Adani case in the US. “So much so, he couldn’t condemn the assassination of head of Iran and famous religious leader by US and Israel, despite Iran having always supported India.”
He described the situation as very embarrassing for the country and against the established foreign policy of India, adding that under Modi’s leadership India has lost all good friends in the world.
Karra said the Congress would strongly oppose this anti-farmer deal and hold protests at all district headquarters in IIOJK on March 9, on the opening day of the Indian parliament session.
He added that his party would also organize a march in the occupied territory to oppose the deal and demand the restoration of statehood to IIOJK.
Speaking on the occasion, IIOJK Congress working president Raman Bhalla also criticised the India-US trade deal and called for its immediate roll back, describing it against the interests of Indian people, especially farmers and fruit growers.
He further said that the Modi government had made a promise on the floor of the house six years ago regarding the restoration of statehood to IIOJK, but the commitment remains unfulfilled.
