TORKHAM (Kashmir English): A horrific fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday at a commercial market near the Torkham border in Afghan territory, burning down more than 150 shops, according to local sources.
However, according to sources, Torkham market fire was started by Afghan Taliban themselves and is now blaming Pakistan to sell their fabricated narrative to the world.
According to local sources, the Torkham market fire occurred at around 4 am when a fire suddenly broke out in different parts of the market, engulfing dozens of shops. According to initial estimates, traders have suffered a loss of about 300 million Afghanis.
Taliban officials immediately blamed Pakistan, however, security sources are calling this claim a complete lie and false. According to them, this market is located in Afghan territory and the question arises how Pakistani forces could cross the border and burn the entire market?
Local traders said that Taliban armed personnel were seen moving in the area shortly before the fire broke out. Security sources said that the fire was likely the result of an internal operation or mismanagement, after which an attempt is being made to inflame border tensions by blaming Pakistan.
According to rescue sources, the fire continued to burn for several hours, completely destroying the busy commercial market of Torkham and killing dozens of people.
