ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Mild earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad on Saturday night, causing brief panic among residents who rushed out of homes and offices.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake in Islamabad measured 4.5 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush region, a seismically active area known for frequent tremors.
Officials said the depth of the quake was recorded at 136 kilometers underground, which reduced its surface impact. No immediate reports of casualties or property damage were received.
Authorities are monitoring the situation, while citizens have been advised to remain calm and follow safety guidelines in case of aftershocks.
