Petrol prices expected to drop, diesel to climb from February 1

ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): Petrol Prices in Pakistan are likely to become cheaper and diesel more expensive from February 1.

According to initial estimates, petrol may become cheaper by 36 paise per liter, while high-speed diesel is likely to become expensive by up to Rs 9.47 per liter.

Light diesel is estimated to become expensive by Rs 6.95 per liter and kerosene by Rs 3.69 per liter.

The OGRA will send the summary working to the Petroleum Division on January 31, and the Ministry of Finance will take the final decision on the prices of petroleum products in consultation with the Prime Minister.

Earlier, the federal government had decided to maintain the current prices of petrol and diesel.

The Petroleum Division issued a notification on Thursday, confirming that the petrol prices will remain at Rs 253.17 per litre.

The diesel price will remain at Rs 257.80 per litre.

The decision comes amid ongoing monitoring of international oil prices and domestic economic conditions.
