JHELUM VALLEY (Umar Bhatti): A serious incident of hooliganism occurred in broad daylight in Darra Top Gujran, within the jurisdiction of Chikar Police Station, Tehsil Chikar, Jhelum Valley, which left the residents in a state of fear.

According to eyewitnesses, a few miscreants, allegedly under the influence of drugs, suddenly entered the market and started severely mistreating local shopkeepers.

The culprits attacked the shopkeepers with knives and kicked and punched them, resulting in multiple injuries. The injured were immediately provided medical aid locally.

The unfortunate aspect of the story is that at the time of the incident, the police personnel stationed at the police post, despite being present on the spot, merely remained spectators and did not take any effective measures to stop the miscreants.

There is severe anger among the trading community over this alleged negligence of the police. Immediately after the incident, the shopkeepers of Darra Top Gujran started protesting.

According to sources, senior police officials have taken notice of the matter and initiated preliminary action, and teams have been formed to arrest the culprits.
