ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): The American magazine ‘The Diplomat‘ has called Pakistan the center of attention again on the global stage and said that 2025 has proven to be the year of strategic return and military confidence for Pakistan. According to the report, after many years, Pakistan has again emerged with a prominent position in the global debate.
According to The Diplomat, in 2025, Pakistan’s military leadership gave a clear and strong message against extremism at the state level. The army chief took a categorical stance that the authority to declare jihad lies only with the state, which the magazine called an important milestone against extremism. The report said that this clear message from the military leadership strengthened state discipline and writ.

The report said that a favorable global environment was created for the second phase of CPEC, and Pakistan was named a key player in the global efforts related to Gaza. Pakistan adopted a clear and reasoned stance on the issue of Afghanistan, while its policy against the TTP became decisively tough. According to the journal, Pakistan’s strategy increased pressure on the Taliban government.
The Diplomat further said that Pakistan highlighted cross-border threats on the global level by involving Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia in the role of mediators. Significant successes were achieved domestically against terrorism, and cooperation with various countries increased.
Despite economic difficulties, progress was made on reform initiatives, while the privatization of PIA was hailed as a breakthrough and a potential turning point after two decades.
