ISLAMABAD (Kashmir English): A new regulation has been made by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) for foreign medical graduates aiming to start their house job in Pakistan.

As per the new regulation, foreign medical graduates are required to get themselves provisionally registered by the PMDC prior to undertaking their house job. The council has specified clearly that without provisional registration, no house job shall be permitted, and in case of an ongoing house job, it should not continue.

In a bid to ensure proper implementation, PMDC has drafted a formal notification to be circulated among all public and private medical colleges, teaching hospitals, and healthcare facilities across Pakistan. The objective is to verify the provisional registration of the foreign graduates who are allowed to register for house jobs.

PMDC clarified that the new policy aims to harmonize the training of medical practitioners, uphold professional standards, and ensure compliance. Colleges that disregard the policy or directive may face disciplinary or regulatory measures.

Foreign graduates are advised to go through the process of provisional registration prior to pursuing any medical training.
