LAHORE (Kashmir English): The Punjab government on Monday announced winter vacations for all government and private colleges in the province amid the harsh weather conditions.
According to the notification issued by the Punjab Higher Education Department, the higher educational institutions will remain closed from December 23, 2025, to January 10, 2026.
“All colleges (public and private) shall re-open on Tuesday, 13th January, 2026, resuming a full/normal week for all classes,” the notification stated.
Furthermore, it stated that “BS 4-Year Programs, however, shall continue to function.” All examinations shall be held as per the notified schedules of Boards and Universities, it added.
Earlier, the government officially announced winter vacations for all schools across the province. The vacations will begin from December 23, 2025, and will continue till January 11, 2026, the notification said.
“All schools will reopen on January 13, 2026, with the start of the new academic session.”
The education department has made it clear that this schedule will apply equally to both government and private educational institutions.
